Although the Instant art of training is gone, the freedom to discover my self has eliminated my intentions to imitate. A whole new form of one-ism / Chi.

Thank you Marilyn for all the knowledge you have passed on to me through self defense and friendship. Any women that has been thinking of joining self defense should look no further. here at house of Soke we are like a family and who better to learn from than someone you can really trust. I have went from being shy to being more in control of my life and my kids lives. YOU have to take care of yourself, you will not always have someone standing next to you to help! being aware of your surroundings and how you deal with them could save your life one day! Thanks again, OUS

Mansfield Kyoshii has received several invitations for promotions, above my current rank since Taika Oyata has passed. I have respectfully declined. While meditating on rank offers, I felt my connection with Zen Ken Ichii is more 'meaningful - heartfelt' than any rank. In respect to myself, Taika and BSR, my title of Kyoshi will stand fast! Spelt as"Kyoshii, with ii showing my linage / connection to Soke Dwight Childress-BSR - Zen Ken Ichii".

Soke Dwight Childress is truly a living treasure in the martial arts community. I have often said to him the only thing which surpasses his martial arts skill is his heart and compassion for others. Soke is a mentor to us all in the martial arts community and we all look up to him. I have been in the martial arts for approximately 38 years and I am honored to have Dwight as a friend. The students who train at the House of Soke Martial Arts Center are learning from some of the best martial arts instructors in the world. Not only are the physical aspects taught but the core values of life. Soke Childress is dedicated to preserving the teachings of our late masters. One can learn Kobudo, the internal and external systems within the martial arts the school teaches all aspects of the arts and is has a vast array of techniques in their curriculum. An excellent school.

I remember walking in New York City approximately 18 years ago with Soke. We went down to buy canes. As we were walking he looked up at a point and saw a studio teaching Tai Chi. He said to me that someday he would incorporate Tai Chi into the KZI system. This is a beautiful and everlasting testament to that foresight. OSSSS!

I want to first off say thank you to Marilyn and hanshi Leary for a great self defense class, it was very informative and opened my eyes to my surroundings, it also gave me more confidence, and I know now that it doesn't always matter how big you are but how you react. I will be taking the next class also! Thanks for everything,

Ous....
